Do I need to activate my SIM?
Your SIM will already be activated when you receive it. Simply put it in your phone or device add a TopUp or Bag of Chat and you’re good to go
How do I keep my current number?
To transfer your phone number to your new ChatChit SIM, you first need to ask your old mobile provider for a Porting Authorisation Code (PAC). You can use then use the Switchit form at www.letchatchit.com/switchit to submit your PAC and choose a date for the transfer. If your number has not been transferred by the day after the scheduled date, please contact our customer support about it. Please note we are only able to transfer UK numbers to ChatChit. How do I add a Bag of Chat?
You will be able to receive calls immediately. However, to make calls, send SMS or use data, you’re going to have to add either credit or a bundle to your account. (Purchasing credit separately is only necessary if you wish to use the services outside of the bundle, such as calling premium rate numbers or international calls and texts).
Make sure you apply a bundle to your account to receive unlimited calls and texts and an allowance of data. If you don’t apply a bundle, you’ll be charged the much higher pay as you go tariff (price per minute, per SMS or per MB).
You have the choice of 4 different bundles, each offering you unlimited calls and texts and great value on data. The easiest way to purchase a bundle is from the website
Where can I purchase a TopUp from?
You can buy your TopUp direct from www.letschatchit.com/topchitup or one of the thousands of shops around the UK where you can see the PayPoint, 3R Telecom Or Eezee Top-Up sign.
How do I apply my TopUp Voucher?
Top ups purchased direct from www.letschatchit.com are automatically applied to your account. To apply TopUps purchased offline, locate the 12 digit number on your voucher and send the message “TOPUP
Top ups can also be applied by code by calling the Self-Service freephone number 1244*. *Please note, you are not able to purchase TopUps or bundles from this number.
How do i use my TopUp to buy a bundle?
To use your TopUp balance to purchase a bundle, ensure there is enough balance and send the message “BUNDLE <Bundle Name>” to 1244, for example “BUNDLE 5GB”.
You will immediately receive a confirmation that the bundle has successfully been applied.
To prevent any breaks with your unlimited minutes and texts and make sure your unused data rolls over, make sure you top up within 30 days.
How can I set up My Account on my mobile homepage
Follow these simple steps to add ChatChit to your phone’s home screen and access your account just like any other app. Sign into your My Account on your device. Press the share icon (iOS) or menu button (three dots – android) in your browser, and select ‘Add to home screen’.
I've forgotten or blocked my PIN
If you’ve blocked your phone by entering an incorrect PIN too many times, you’ll need a PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) code to unblock your device. To get your PUK code, please get in touch with us via support on +44(0)203 006 6183.
Once you’ve entered your PUK code, you’ll be asked to choose a new 4-digit PIN of your choice. After that, you’ll be unblocked and good to go again.
I've entered the wrong PUK code
You have 10 chances to enter a correct PUK code. After that, your ChatChit SIM will be blocked.
If your PUK code hasn’t worked after your third attempt and you’re sure that you’ve entered it correctly, contact us so that we can help you.
Make sure you’re requesting for the right kind of code when you speak with us. The PUK code is when you’ve entered your PIN incorrectly too many times, whilst your PAC is what you need when moving your number.
If the PUK is entered in 10 times incorrectly your SIM will be blocked and you will need to request a new SIM
What if I get malicious and nuisance calls
Nobody should have to receive malicious and nuisance calls. there are a few simple precautions you can take:
Sign up to the Telephone Preference Service https://www.tpsonline.org.uk. A free service, it is the official central opt out register on which you can record your preference not to receive unsolicited sales or marketing calls. It is a legal requirement that all organisations (including charities, voluntary organisations and political parties) do not make such calls to numbers registered on the TPS unless they have your consent to do so.
It is important to note that the TPS will prevent the receipt of marketing voice calls but not SMS (text) messages. If you wish to stop receiving SMS marketing messages, please send an ‘opt-out’ request to the company involved.
Don’t leave your name and number on your voicemail.
Don’t reply to texts from numbers that you don’t recognise.
Don’t answer calls from withheld numbers or numbers that you don’t recognise.
If you’re receiving direct threats call 999. Otherwise, call 101 to report it.
Should you receive a malicious call, keep calm and don’t talk with the caller or share any personal information. Hang up as soon as you can.
If you ever get a call with an automated voicemail message, never make any number selections, and hand up.
What is the Fair Use Policy
Our Bags of Chat with Unlimited Calls & SMS have a Fair Usage Policy of 5,000 Minutes & 5,000 Texts/ SMS
How do I find out if my phone is locked?
The easiest way is to put the SIM in it. If you are able to get a signal then your phone’s unlocked and you’re good to go.
If you’re unable to get a signal with a ChatChit SIM, your phone is probably locked to a different network.
Can I send Picture Messages?
Sending and receiving photos online such as through WhatsApp and Facebook are included in your data bundle allowance. However, should you wish to send MMS picture messages, you will need to add extra topup credit.
How do I unlock my phone from another network?
If you know which network you’re on, contact them and ask them to unlock you. Every network has a different policy on unlocking a phone and how long it takes, with most networks offering it as a free service.
Or take your phone to your local unlocking shop (check their reviews online first). They have the tech to sort it out for you.
How long will it take to unlock my phone?
“It depends on your network – ask them when you get in touch and check their policy.
It usually takes up to 30 days.”
How do I get my PAC code
To transfer your existing phone number to your new ChatChit SIM, simply ask your old mobile provider for your PAC code (Porting Authorisation Code). They should give this to you instantly.
Once you have your PAC, simply go to www.letschatchit.com/switchit enter your details on the form, submit your PAC and choose a date for the transfer.
If your number has not been transferred by the day after the scheduled date, please contact our customer support team on 1244.
Please note we are only able to transfer UK mobile numbers to ChatChit.
We would hate to see you go, but if you do need your PAC code from us, simply call customer services on 1244 to request it.
Reporting a lost phone or SIM
Losing your SIM card or phone is a distressing experience, but our plans are built to help our members protect their phone number, credits, block their phone and get the appropriate documentation for their insurer. Simply call our Customer Service team on 0203 006 6183
You should receive your new or replacement SIM within 3 business days from order
How do I cancel my contract?
Although unlikely, should you wish, to can cancel your contract simply don’t top up. You will not have to pay any sort of early exit fee.
What is the best data bundle for me?
Our Bags of Chat, you’ll get a UK data allowance. This is the amount of data you can use each month and is measured in gigabytes (GB). The more you do online, the more data you’ll use. You can choose Bags of Chat from 500MB up to 10GB.
You can check your usage at any time in the ChatChit My Account.
What’s included in my allowances?
All our Bags of Chat include unlimited calls and texts within the UK and roaming in the EU. Your data allowances will depend on what Bag of Chat you’re on.
Network, Wi-Fi & Internet
Can I connect other devices to my Phone to use the internet?
Yes, you can tether and use your phone as a mobile hot spot for other devices (Video game console, TV, Chromecast, Roku, Fire TV Stick etc.. ) no matter which ChatChit plan you’re on.
It will not cost you any extra to tether your devices to a ChatChit mobile, but will utilise your existing data allowance.
How can I check the network coverage where I am?
ChatChit supports 2G, 3G, 4G and 4G+ technologies.

How can I check my device is 2G, 3G, 4G
ChatChit supports 2G, 3G, 4G and 4G+ technologies, and is compatible with almost all mobile devices available.

Dial *#06# on your phone to display your IMEI number.
Enter your IMEI number at www.imei.info
Look at the GSM, HSDPA, and LTE section of the report where it displays all the frequencies that your phone is capable of using.
The table below shows the frequencies the ChatChit network operates on, so your phone will be compatible with the service matching the frequency. (SEE TABLE ON SHEET 5)
Can I use with ChatChit with any phone or tablet?
Yes – but we recommend you use a 4G ready device to get the most out of our plans.
Can I use Wi-Fi Calling and how do i set it up?
ChatChit allows for Wi-Fi calling. This means that if you are in area of low reception, you can use a Wi-Fi connection to boost your signal.
Setting up Wi-Fi Calling is easy.
Simply make sure you have Wi-Fi Calling switched set to On” on your handset, and you’re good to go!
How do I check my TopUp balance?
To check your remaining TopUp balance, you can either:
Text Balance to 1244 to get a reply with your balance
Call 1204 free from your ChatChit phone to hear your remaining balance
Log in at www.letschatchit.com/mychit to see you balance remaining
How do I check how much Data I have left on my bundle?
To check how much data you have left in your bundle, sign in to your account at www.letschatchit.com/mychit
Why do I need top-up credit?
The following services aren’t included in our plans, so you’ll need to get a TopUp to use them:
Using your phone outside the EU and selected destinations.
Calling international numbers
MMS (picture messages)
Calling/Texting premium rate numbers
How and when will I be charged?
ChatChit is offered as a pre-pay service. This means you will never have any surprise bills or charges at the end of the month.
If you have an active Bag of Chat (each Bag of Chat bundle lasts for 30 days) you will only be charged (from your TopUp balance) for using your phone
– When you are outside the EU making calls
– Calling international numbers
– Sending MMS (picture messages)
– Calling premium numbers.
If you don’t have an active Bag of Chat, you’ll be charged from your TopUp balance for any data, calls or texts usage according to our Pay-As-You-Go prices, where data usage is charged per megabyte (MB), calls are charged per minute, and you are charged for each SMS message you send. – If you don’t have any TopUp balance or an Active bag of Chat, you will only be able to receive calls and texts and use the internet via a Wi-Fi connection.

I've used all my data! What can I do?
Don’t Panic! If you find that your Bag of Chat has run out of data you can keep on using our services at PAYG rates (providing you have TopUp balance) or simply purchase a new Bag of Chat bundle to be added to your account. Click HERE to get a new Bag of Chat bundle.
How do I set up my phone for using data?
If you’re having issues getting online or sending text and picture messages? You may need to update your settings.
Connect to Wi-Fi and text XXXXX to XXXXX (it’s free from your mobile)
You’ll receive a text to let you know your settings are on their way
You’ll receive a second text containing the settings – simply follow the instructions and save the settings to complete the setup
If you didn’t get the text and have checked the configuration folder (Android), or if you followed the instructions in the text and are still having problems, you will need to update your APN settings manually.

What if I go over my SIM Only allowance?
You’ll only pay extra if you go over your monthly data allowance, or if you use a service that isn’t included in your SIM only Bag of Chat bundle. However to do so, you will need to add TopUp to your account. Click here to see what you’ll pay from our full list of call costs – including using your phone abroad, non-geographical (08 and 07 numbers), premium-rate numbers and more.
Will I be charged for calling premium rate numbers?
Yes. Premium rate numbers aren’t covered by our Bags of Chat, meaning you’ll be charged for them out of your TopUp balance.
If you haven’t topped up, you won’t be able to call these numbers so no need to worry about any further charges outside your plan.
Can I call international numbers?
Yes, you can but this will come out of your topup credit. If you haven’t topped up, you won’t be able to call internationally
Problems with sending text messages
If you’re having issues sending SMS messages, then you may need to change one of the settings on your phone.
Please follow the steps below to check that you’ve got the right text service center number stored on your device.
If you have an iPhone:
Fire up the keypad and dial *#5005*7672#
You should be able to see the current text service centre number.
The number should be: +447958879879.
If it needs changing, enter **5005*7672*447958879879* and tap call.
You should see a message that says Setting succeeded, Service Address, No Address.
Select Dismiss, then restart your iPhone and repeat step 1 to check that the right number now comes up.
If you have an Android device:
Start up the SMS app, select Menu and go to Settings.
Scroll down and choose Message Centre.
Check the number is correct – it should be +447958879879.
If it isn’t, edit the number, then restart your phone and check that everything is stored okay.

You can view, your monthly usage by logging into www.letschatchit.com/mychit
Here you will be able to:
View your itemised usage and the monthly cost of your contract
Download or print a PDF of your bill
See any additional charges, such as out of bundle charges
Keep track of your current charges to get an idea of any charges that may be added to your total monthly bill
Why is my TopUp balance being used when I have a Bag of Chat bundle applied?
Your TopUp balance will be used if you have:
Exceeded your monthly allowance data
Made or received calls, sent texts or used data while you were abroad in a non-EU roaming country
Called or texted international numbers
Called 08 or 09 numbers
Reached the end of a promotion, such as a discount on your plan
Entered a text competition or made a text donation
What happens if I don't renew my plan?
If your account isn’t set up to auto-renew, and at the end of your month’s plan and you choose not to renew for another month your plan will end. This means that you won’t be able to make calls, send texts, or use data until you renew your account.
If your account is inactive for 90 days, your account will automatically terminate itself.
Using your mobile abroad
Can I use my phone abroad?
Our Bags of Chat, include data, unlimited minutes and texts to the UK when you are in all the countries in the EU and selected other destinations. This means that you can use your phone just as you would at home, but without any extra cost. The same goes for our Pay as you go prices as well.

What countries can I use my plan in?
You can use your plan at no extra cost in 48 countries in our Europe Zone. Your calls, texts and data will work as normal – including your endless social data.
To use your plan outside of our Europe Zone, you’ll need to sign into your account and add a TopUp balance. Go to www.letschatchit.com/ratechit to see our international rates for calls, texts and data usage by country.
The countries in our Europe Zone are:
Denmark (including Faroe Islands)
France (including Corsica)
Isle of Man
Spain (including Balearic Islands)
Am I using my UK allowances when I’m roaming abroad?
This depends on where you’re roaming. If you’re travelling in one of the Eurozone destinations you can use your UK allowance of data, minutes and texts for no extra charge.
